Matt is a senior podiatrist at ACE who specialises in running biomechanics and sports podiatry, he is passionate about helping athletes and running enthusiasts achieve peak performance while minimizing injury risk. He has a deep understanding of the intricate relationship between foot mechanics and overall athletic function.
His expertise spans across diagnosing and treating running related injuries, biomechanical assessments, custom orthotic prescriptions and preventive care. He combines his advanced podiatric knowledge with a keen insight into sports science, ensuring that every patient receives comprehensive care that enhances their running efficiency and overall well-being.
Whether working with elite athletes or recreational runners, he is committed to empowering his patients with the tools and knowledge they need to run safely and effectively. He is patient centered, focusing not just on treating symptoms but also identifying the root causes of issues to prevent future injuries. He is driven by his love for running and commitment to helping others achieve their running goals, pain free and with confidence. He is continually updating his knowledge in the fields of sports science and podiatry to offer the most effective and up to date treatments.
When he isn’t treating runners he is usually running, he has been a competitive runner for over 30 years, specializing in track events from 800m to 1500m. He has run for a number of clubs on both track and road. He has competed at county, regional and national level with a half marathon best of 1hr 13min. When he is not running, he unwinds by watching films and indulging in his favourite dish, chilli con carne.
