The Hub is accessible via regular public transport links and benefits from two large public car parks. The surrounding town boasts medical centres, pharmacies, numerous coffee shops and various independent retailers. Our Pontypridd Hub is stocked with wide-fitting comfort footwear, orthopaedic supports, medical supplies and offers a full range of chiropody services and orthotic insole prescription. All of our Chiropody Services at the Pontypridd Hub are administered by HCPC-registered Podiatrists.

General podiatry or chiropody refers to the treatment of conditions that effect the lower limb, foot and ankle. Our experienced HCPC registered Podiatry team are experts in the treatment of conditions such as hard skin (callus), corns, thick nails, verruca’s, ingrown toe nails and dry cracked heels.

We use biomechanical analysis to determine what might be leading to pain or discomfort. Our podiatry team has over 27 years of experience between them and perform gait analysis on a daily basis. Analysis of the way you walk can give us valuable data and information that will help us understand what might be causing or contributing to your problems.

Our trained in-house Healthcare Assistants are on hand to help with appropriate product selection and fitting whether it be comfort footwear, off-the-shelf orthopaedic supports or prescribed orthotic insoles. Private changing facilities are also available at your Hub if required.

Below we have answered some frequently asked questions we regularly get at our clinics prior to your appointment.
What is a podiatrist?
A podiatrist is a medical professional specializing in diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions related to the foot, ankle, and lower limb.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
No, you don’t need a referral to see a podiatrist. You can book an appointment directly with our clinic administrator’s.
What are the clinic hours?
Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 5pm.
Can I park outside?
Parking is free directly outside our hub at 63 Taff Street, Pontypridd, CF37 4TD, outside the hours of 11 am to 3 pm. During these hours, we recommend using the Gas Road Pay and Display Car Park located at the rear of the building.
Are your services covered by private health insurance?
Yes, you will need to check that your policy covers you for gait analysis. You will need to provide your insurance details so we can process the invoice for the appointment. In most cases private health insurers wont cover any insoles. These will have to be a self-pay item.
Are the podiatrists fully qualified and registered?
All of our podiatrists have BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry and have undergone further training. They are also registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
